MK3. Life in the Millennial Kingdom

AS CITIZENS OF A COUNTRY, WHAT DO WE LOOK FOR?

If there is reference point for what we are really looking for, it can be summed up in Maslow's five-tier model of human needs that is completely fulfilled without too much difficulty achieving them.

People seek to be joyful and happy. We could say that many people think that having millions in our bank account will bring joy and happiness but let's set that aside. For most people, that is out of reach no matter how hard they try. Let's just focus on the fundamental and universal needs of the 99.0% of us regular folks that make up the earth's population.

What would we want that would give us joy and happiness? It would be reasonable to say that we would be pretty contented having creature comforts, sufficient provisions, inner peace and physical peace, safety and good health. We certainly don't want to have to toil long hours, have back-breaking jobs or are forced to hold multiple jobs just to put food on the table. Ultimately, we want to spend quality time with our family and loved ones. We want to return at the end of a work day to an accommodation that is fully paid for, well furnished and a place we can truly call home.

Picture such a time when what has just been described will become a reality. With the Millennial Kingdom, there will be restoraton and man will come full circle.

HARMONY IS RESTORED

Everything will be in harmony.

• Where before the fall of man, the earth was good (Gen 1) the people will be living in similar goodness.
• God made his manifest presence known to man when He walked and talked with Adam. (Gen 3). He will once again be in a 'physical dimension' with man in His manifest presence as Jesus the ruling King.
• Adam before he fell was a perfect man. The glorified saints ruling with Christ will be not only perfect but will be like Christ (Col 3:4)
• The serpent is imprisoned in the bottomless pit (Rev 20:1-3) and will not roam the earth for a 1,000 years to deceive and corrupt people.

PEACE AND SAFETY RESTORED - NO MORE VIOLENCE, NO MORE WAR

Firstly, there will be no more violence in the community and no more war at a national level.

• "And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem." Isa 2:3
• "and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." Isa 2:4

A GOOD LIFE RESTORED

The days will be joyful, lived in good health and the work of the hands are handsomely rewarded.  

• "And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in My people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying. There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.
• And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; ... They shall not build, and another inhabit;
• and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them ... they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of My people, and Mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
• They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them." Isa 65:19-23

MAN'S DOMINION OVER CREATURES IS RESTORED

All creatures will come under man's dominion just as God originally intended (Gen 1:26-28); not even a honey bee will sting a child. 

• "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, The leopard shall lie down with the young goat, The calf and the young lion and the fatling together; And a little child shall lead them. The cow and the bear shall graze; Their young ones shall lie down together; And the lion shall eat straw like the ox. The nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole, And the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper’s den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord As the waters cover the sea." Isaiah 11:6-9

STRICT GOVERNANCE OF MAN, ACCORDING TO THE LAW, IS RESTORED

A strict law modelled on Jewish law as God had intended for the Jews prior to the Pharisees corrupting it, will be instituted. As glorified saints, we will be implementing the righteous law under the authority of King Jesus.  

• "And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem." Isa 2:2-3

• "And he that overcometh, and keepeth My works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father." Rev 2:26-27

TRUE WORSHIP, AS OPPOSED TO FALSE WORSHIP, IS RESTORED

Picture the Millennial Kingdom as this restored reality. Would we not welcome this with open arms?
