GP2. In the beginning, man was without Sin

When the first man Adam and his wife Eve committed the sin of disobedience and ate the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, God banished them from the Garden of Eden. This began the separation of man from God and from that point on, Sin entered the world. Man became 'spiritually dead' as Sin is passed upon all babies at birth. This is similar to the DNA of a child which is drawn from his parents' DNA. Therefore, all people at birth are sinners because both parents were born sinners. In our sinful condition, we are spiritually unclean and are unable to come into the presence of God that is perfectly holy and totally without sin.

Description

God created the first man Adam and his wife Eve. They were created sinless and fashioned in the image of God (Gen 1:27). God provided for all their needs in the Garden of Eden where they resided. This was paradise on earth with a perfect environment, beautiful landscape, amazing weather, complete peace and safety where even the most ferocious animals as we know them today were not harming man or other creatures.

This was a place that God was pleased to take a walk during the cool of the day. That is until the land was defiled by the sin of Adam.

One day, the crafty serpent deceived Eve. Together with Adam, they ate fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Gen 2:17) which God had told them not to. Man was now with sin and corrupted. Their Sin of disobedience angered God greatly and it lead to their dismissal from Eden.

From that day onwards, man was separated from God's presence. You and I, as Adam’s descendants have inherited his Sin DNA at birth as all people are his bloodline (Rom 5:12-13).

The knowledge of good and evil now residing in man can be seen for example, in the horrifying violence of the many wars and the state-sponsored murder of over six million Jews during WW2. Not only was one evil possessed man responsible but such is the abominable nature of Sin (Prov 6:16-17) that an entire nation of 80,000,000 Germans become so hate-filled just like Hitler and set out to massacre millions of human beings.
