Key Points

  • Christ is in the harvest field; are we out there with Him?
  • The Great Commission is EVERY believer's responsibility.

The Word

  • "And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." Mark 16:15-16
  • "For whoever calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved." How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!” Romans 10:13-15

Description

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS

The GP1-6 and GP7-12 series of pictures and layman explanations is designed as an easy-to-use outreach tool whenever an opportunity presents itself. It can also serve as e-tract to place in the hands of a non-believer.

TOUGH QUESTIONS

Expect tough questions when attempting to share the Gospel of Jesus. Non-believers and even some believers have asked, "Why would a loving God send a good person to hell?" or "Is it fair that a person who has not heard the Gospel be judged on what he is unaware?"

The widely held view that those who are Pastors or Bible academics are more learned and have all the answers is just a perception. You and I, the regular folks in the community, just as Peter, James and John were, are today's ambassadors sent by Christ (2 Cor 5:20). Ambassadors are accorded the greatest honor to represent a country. We who are the anonymous and the unremarkable, have been assigned the role to responsibly represent Christ and His Gospel.

LET THE BIBLE ANSWER THE TOUGH QUESTIONS

Jesus has meant for every believer to have access to wisdom, knowledge and understanding of the Holy Word of God in the Bible.

  • "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Matt 4:4
  • "For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;" Proverbs 2:6

When Jesus confronted Satan in the wilderness (Matt 4:1-11) He repelled the enemy every time with the Word and responded "as it is written". Apply this important principle by reasoning with the Word when responding to tough questions. In this way, you can "be instant in season, out of season;" and Gospel-ready anytime and anywhere. Every Topic in the Gospel of Jesus series has foundational verses that explain the subject matter.

While there are Christians called to be teachers and pastors (Eph 4:11) who study the Word thoroughly, the Lord has intended for us not to be merely Sunday attendees and conference note takers. When we are genuinely interested in God's Word and meditate with a seeking heart, the Holy Spirit will provide clarity and understanding that can only come through His counsel. There will be moments when we do not even realize that "it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you." (Matt 10:20).
