The world will increasingly isolate Israel. During the Great Tribulation, even its staunchest ally the US is unable to rescue it.

WHY ISRAEL WILL NOT OBTAIN GENUINE PEACE UNTIL CHRIST RETURNS
Israel subscribes to Old Testament prophecies but the world does not.
For all the peace talks, political rhetoric and US-led negotiations, authentic peace for Israel will remain elusive. Apart from Jews and Bible-believing Christians, everyone else does not recognize that God's Word is totally binding upon kingdoms, nations, rulers and peoples throughout mankind's history.
More moderate Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia and Jordan have treaties with Israel. On the other hand, Iran is the most conspicuous hostile player that vows to drive the Jews off the land into the Mediterranean Sea. The view held by the UN is that the Jews are illegally occupying Palestinian territories (UN Security Council Resolution 2334).
In the Old Testament, God had covenanted with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to give their descendants the land that is today the nation of Israel. As Christians, we accept the inerrancy of the Bible by faith that the Jews are God's legitimate heir to the land.
What does God have to say about it?
Israel and the Palestinians claim Jerusalem as its capital.
Israel officially regards Jerusalem as its capital. The Palestinians with the support of the United Nations, has for decades claimed the city as its capital. Given that the United Nations holds the key to the legal recognition of Jerusalem, and this cannot be legislated by the UN or by a court, the status of Jerusalem will remain unsettled from a legal standpoint.
What does God have to say about it?
Both the Jews and Muslims regard Jerusalem as their holy city.
At the centre of Jerusalem on the Temple Mount, sits the Dome of the Rock, a Muslim shrine, and Al-Aqsa mosque, Muslims' third holiest site in the world. Israel captured the Temple Mount from Jordan in the 1967 Six Day War, annexed it but allowed Jordan’s Waqf, a Muslim religious organization, to continue to oversee the compound.
To the Jews, the Temple Mount is considered to be the holiest place in Judaism, regarding it as the site of the first and second Jewish Temples. They await the rebuilding of the third temple to welcome back the Messiah.
For now, Israel has access to the Western Wall but longs to have the whole of. So it is obvious that when it comes to highly sensitve matters of the faith, no one will give up an inch of real estate. As we can see, it is quite complicated with many stakeholders involved.
What does God have to say about it?
A CHOSEN PEOPLE THAT TILL TODAY, REJECTS THE MESSIAH THAT CAME TO REDEEM IT
When the Jews rejected Jesus, they came under God’s judgment. There have been some Jews who have come to believe in Jesus as their Messiah but this is only a tiny percentage. It is estimated that there are only 20,000 Messianic Jews out of Israel’s Jewish population of 6.9 million. This is equivalent to only 0.003% and taking into consideration all the Jews in the world, the percentage is reduced to a mere 0.001%.
A REMNANT OF THE CHOSEN PEOPLE WILL COME TO SEE THE MESSIAH FOR WHO HE TRULY IS
At the end of the Tribulation, there is amazingly good news for a remnant of Israel. The Great Tribulation will be the worst time for everyone alive that time but it will ultimately be a blessing for the elect of Israel. The Lord will use the desperation of the Jews to open their eyes to His divinity, bring them through the fire of the Great Tribulation and redeem them. The peace that they so greatly long for will eventually come to Jerusalem and the Lord Jesus will be their God and they will be His people and never again will there be separation of the Jews from the Lord.
Sno | Verses | Remarks |
1 | "Now also many nations are gathered against thee, that say, Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion. But they know not the thoughts of the Lord, neither understand they His counsel: for He shall gather them as sheaves into the floor." Mic 4:11-12 "Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it." Jer 12:1-2 |
For decades, the UN has passed resolutions condemning Israel more times than against any other country. For now it is a so-called 'civilized' platform where the vilification is in words and proclamations but the day will come when the world will unite as one to come against Israel militarily. |
2 | "And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land." Gen 35:12 | God's covenant with the Jews is binding through the generations. The world's people are for most part unsaved Gentiles and not surprisingly, reject the Bible as the final written document and divine authority that Israel is God's given land. |
3 | "11 But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear. 12 Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the Lord of hosts hath sent in His spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the Lord of hosts. 13 Therefore it is come to pass, that as He cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the Lord of hosts: 14 But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land desolate." Zec 7:11-14 | The Jews' relationship with God is mystifying. They had it good since being set free from the bondage of Egypt but they were and have been stiffnecked ever since, right up to when Jesus was rejected as Israel's Messiah at His first coming. We often think of God's wrath as reserved for a sinful and rebellious world but here, the Bible says that "there came a great wrath from the Lord". God "would not hear" the cry of the Jews and this can explain the plight of the Jews ever since they were scattered throughout the world and the atrocities they endure as a people especially in World War 2. The final cry of Israel will be heard in the Last Days when the mother of all wars against the Jews by the Antichrist will see the Lord come to their rescue and redeem a remnant. |
4 | "Fear thou not, O Jacob My servant, saith the Lord: for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished." (Jer 46:28) | God's relationship with Israel can be mystifying to many people. Israel has been corrected and disciplined multiple times when it turned away from God to idolatry. This last days prophecy in Jer 46:28 is a time when the nations and Israel will be dealt with severely. Through it all, Israel will be corrected one final time in a measured way and fully redeemed. |
5 | "8 And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. 9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried:" Zec 13:8-9 | There will be a massacre of the Jews led by the Antichrist in the second half of the Triibulation but one third shall be both physically saved and spared by the Lord for their salvation in Christ. |
6 | "8 In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; ... 9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem." Zec 12:8-9 | In the day of the Lord during the Great tribulation, the Lamb's wrath will be unleashed upon the nations that are hell-bent on destroying Israel. |
7 | "2 For the indignation of the Lord is against all nations, And His fury against all their armies; ... 8 For it is the day of the Lord’s vengeance, The year of recompense for the cause of Zion." Isa 34:2 and 8 | "the day of the Lord's vengeance" will be "recompense for the cause of Zion". Israel is at the centre of God's plan for the End Times where that particular time will be when Israel will love God in return through His mercy revealed in Christ Jesus. |
